Exploring the ideas of life and death, Tenacity of Being serves as a homage to Dr. Tom Brown for his imponderable contribution to modern dance and dance education in Hong Kong. The production is comprised of five modern dance pieces, including Doris Humphrey's Day on Earth, Rosalind Newman's Out of Dream (excerpt) and two works by Brown: Do Not Go Gentle and Ox on the Roof. Pewan Chow, the Artistic Director of Passoverdance and a student of Brown, will create a new work to complete the evening.
When confronting life and death, is it possible to be tranquil? Is it possible live on for your deceased loved ones?
